This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit techietank.ca, contact us, or engage with our IT consulting and talent services.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to our operations. By using this website or providing information to us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide directly, information we gather automatically when you use the site, and information we receive from other sources. The amount and type depend on how you interact with us.
Information you provide. When you complete the contact form or correspond with us, we collect your name, email address, company name, the nature of your enquiry, and any details you include in your message. If you apply for a role or are presented to us as a candidate, we may collect your resume, employment history, qualifications, references, and related details.
Information we collect automatically. As with most websites, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and the pages you view, along with the dates and times of your visits. We collect this through privacy-friendly analytics and similar technologies.
Information from other sources. In the course of recruiting, we may collect professional information from referrals, references, and publicly available sources such as professional networking sites.
Cookies and analytics
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Our analytics are configured to measure traffic without building an advertising profile of you.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the site may not function properly if you disable them.
How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the information or services you request.
- To scope, deliver, and improve our consulting and talent services.
- To match candidates with suitable roles and present them to prospective employers.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve this website.

- To meet our legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- To send you updates or materials where you have asked to receive them, which you can opt out of at any time.
Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. The way we obtain consent depends on the sensitivity of the information and the context in which we collect it. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who host our site, deliver our email, and provide analytics, under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Clients and candidates. In our talent work, we share candidate information with prospective employers, and role information with candidates, to the extent needed to make an introduction and with appropriate consent.
- Legal and safety. We disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, and safety or those of others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Recruitment and candidate information
If you are a candidate, we use your information to assess your suitability for current and future opportunities, to present you to prospective employers with your consent, and to keep you informed of roles that may interest you. With your consent, we retain your details so we can consider you for future openings. You may ask us to update or remove your information at any time.
Where your information is processed
Some of our service providers store and process information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. While outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by their courts and government authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure our providers maintain appropriate safeguards.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to maintain our business records, and to meet legal and regulatory requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it.
How we protect your information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls, and ongoing review of our practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy
This website is intended for businesses and working professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
